Coaches Love Chasing Rabbits Over Clients
What is the hardest thing for a coach?
Focus and finding clients/offers to share with the market.
Here’s the thing I’ve learned working with coaches over the years.
They are great at asking questions.
They can build a big coaching business - which is lifestyle and not scaleable.
When you ask them to sit down at a computer and actually work ON their business…
Well it’s as if you’ve dropped them in a forest.
They are hiking on the path with a clear destination and a map.
They know where to go, they even know how to get there.
Ambitiously their hike begins.
As soon as the path starts to become challenging to scale, they take a rest under a tree.
Then who should hop along the path but a cute rabbit.
And they decide - I’m going to chase that rabbit.
They forget why they started their journey and that the goal is to make money and scale their business.
These are the rabbits you chase:
1. Writing a book
2. Launching a newsletter
3. Putting together a course
4. Hosting a summit
5. Blogging (without CTAs)
6. Massaging your copy
7. Playing around with funnel software
8. Writing an email - and forgetting to send it out
9. Going to networking events that go nowhere
10. Coming up with a totally new offer when the above doesn’t get you money
Stop chasing the rabbits.
Get back on the hike.
And better yet, keep track of your journey and goals with mile markers.
By the time you get to mile marker 1 your should have a certain goal in mind.
Same for mile marker 2, 3, 4…
Until you hit your goal.
For most coaches this is a 6 figure profit business.
So I don’t want to see your book, newsletter, course, summit, blog, copy split test, funnel page, email, or event you are attending or hosting…until I see 6 figures in your bank account. Period.
Everything else is a distraction.
My good friend Brad Hart has a great funnel when it comes to this.
I call it the “Book A Call” Funnel.
And the goal of the funnel is to book qualified calls.
So they opt-in to book a call.
They read a report to book a call.
They watch a training to book a call.
There is only one goal: BOOK A CALL, BOOK A CALL, BOOK A CALL!!!
Once they have booked the call the next goal is to sell them your high ticket offer.
So here is the super simple funnel to build (if you must build one):
Opt-In > Lead Magnet > Application > Calendar > Call > Sale
Anything more and you are not going to build or scale to 6 figures.
You might as well continue on the lifestyle coaching business that you rock at.
Because one thing is clear.
You are a great coach.
Now we want you be a great marketer too.
Want help with this?
Love and Light,
Kate
